Film It!
A Citywide Mini-Movie Challenge

Film It! is open to all D65 students and Evanston residents entering grades 5th – 8th in the Fall 2022.
The rules are simple – create a short movie (we recommend using iMovie) that is 30-90 seconds long and includes the five core filmmaking elements.
Make it something fun, interesting, about you, or whatever! Interview your grandparent, make a stop-motion video with objects, create a tik-tok style dance, or a how-to tutorial on something you want to show others. It’s up to you!
No experience is required
Never made a movie before or used iMovie? We have you covered. Check out our Film It! Challenge YouTube channel. We created 20+ video tutorials to assist you in your filmmaking process – topics include editing, sound effects, green screen, and more.

Submit your movie and earn a chance to win prizes.
Submit your movie before July 23rd and you will be entered into the challenge prize raffle. The more filmmaking elements you include, the better your chances at winning.
We will pick raffle winners and premier all movies at on the big screen in Mason Park on July 28th.

“Don’t wait for permission to do something creative.”
